Like a lot of people I lost Houllier after Man City.  I'm not generally a fan of sacking managers so soon into their tenure, but this man has made too many gaffes and seems to stumble from one disaster to another.    It's clear from Saturday that the players have little or no confidence in him and he has also obviously lost the fans.

If we do change manager, then the best time is obviously the summer and then we can hopefully get our number one choice in, even if he is at another club.  This job will be attractive to many people and despite current form, it's a damn good squad of players, with a chairman who backs managers as well

Stop dicking around, Randy, pull the trigger.

I wish he would Paulie, because you know what, if he dose'nt, i have a horrible feeling that we could be in for one of those 5-0 relegation type drubbings up at Everton. They're more or less safe now, they'll be playing with confidence. The last thing this team needs is a thrashing. I might be wrong though and i hope to god i am.

At last someone at the Beeb laying into Houllier. About time - he seems to have been protected from criticism due to his Liverpool connections.
He has to go - sooner rather than later. The problem is Lerner has been mugged off and hired GH on the recommendation of the Chief Executive. Therefore he has to sack both of them Houllier for his abject management (and without question the most arrogant person I have seen associated with Villa) and Faulkener who has must have had a hige say in him being hired "Our best chance of staying up is with Gerard." I think this is a back-covering exercise of the highest order from Faulkener. How can he say 'best chance' - ludicrous comment?
I expected mid table turge under Houllier, negative outdated tactics and he ould dress it up as progress - I didn't expect us to be this abject.
How many players has Houllier antagonised? That would be the senior ones we need now - Dunne, Warnock, Carew, Collins. Ashley 'want away' Young as Captain? Pires chauffeur driven each day from London? How many more gaffes - he is Aloof beyond belief.
We went down under McDuff because he and the players didn't care, we will be relegated if Houllier stays.
A half decent manager would have this squad on a par with Liverpool - they are no better than last season, we are far worse

I'm in the camp that tghis is our last window of oppoortunity to make a change - wait any longer and the manager is almost irrelevent. 8 games is still a just under a quarter of the season.

If we lose against Everton and Newcastle I don't think it'll matter whose in charge as the dye will be cast for better or for worse.

Downing wants out too?

Can you blame him? Played well for us on the left early on in the season linking up well with Albrighton playing on the right. Then Houllier comes along and plays them both out of position for most of the season.

Downing has been class for us this season, better than I've seen him ever for Boro.

I'm sure he just wants us to be where we belong & put all this bullshit behind us.

I do think Downing's been pretty good this season, but he was one of the players that got right on my tits on Saturday. Cutting inside against a fat bastard like Elokobi? Fucking hell, that bloke should have come off with his head on back to front and Downing gave him the easiest ninety minutes of the whole season.

He had to keep cutting inside as he is playing on the wrong side.....if he was on the left he wouldnt have to cut in
