0% Villa - Joe Jordan banned by UEFA

Joe Jordan has been banned for one game for his spat with Gattuso http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/9428343.stm.

Following on from Lennons punishment last week I am again speechless. I am no Spurs fan but I was amazed at the time how restrained Jordan was. Unbelieveable.

Madness.

As discussed at the time on the other games thread, Jordan showed considerable restraint. During his playing career he'd have eaten Gattuso and spat out the gristle.

All I can imagine is that Jordan said something to Gattuso in front of a UEFA official and inflamed the situation.

Trust me, he was no shrinking violet. Despite what you saw in the AC Milan game, he must have done something to wind the little shit up so much, so I'm not all that surprised.

A talented player for sure, but a thug nonetheless,  and a major contributor to his team's reputation as Dirty Leeds.

It had been rumoured at the time that Jordan used the Italian he picked up whilst playing at Milan to insinuate that Gattuso's sister was involved in the oldest profession. This was while the game was going on, and Gattuso went looking for revenge at the final whistle (hence him high-fiving Meltface before nutting Jordan). Interestingly, Gattuso's sister-in-law is GMTV's Carla Romano.

Remember a toothless Joe Jordan scoring against us with a header when I was a kid.  Think he was playing for Southampton?

Remember him playing for Southampton at Villa Park circa 1984 in the dirtiest team I have ever seen, marshalled by the horrible Steve Williams. Plus we were 2-0 up the Jordan scored twice

That'll be the game I'm remembering too.
