Once in a lifetime visit to VP ......
« on: March 15, 2011, 11:37:42 PM »
If you were hosting a friend from another continent who was coming over to the UK on a once in a lifetime trip (specifically to take in a game at VP becuase they have been a life long Villa fan), where and what would you recommend they see/do in their short time here?

All suggestions most welcome

Take the stadium tour, tell the club about the visit and get a photo in a programme, spend a wad on a hospitality package, spend another one in the club shop. And do not expect to see a home win :-(

Stadium tour is a good start... liking it ;D

Who is best to tell about the visit, would not be Nicola Keys would it?

Make sure they have a pre-match pint in "The Villa Tavern" (remember Sat night is Disco night in the back room)

Aston Hall by Candlelight after the game is another option (if time of year suits)

Stadium tour on a non-match day.

Match day, H&V from yours truly followed by hospitality package or whatever your friend prefers.

Walk up the hill towards Aston Hall and let them take in the view. But make sure you go on at length about how much better it used to look - surely the greatest football ground view in the world in fact - when the Trinity Road and Holte End were in their full former glory.

Dont forget a quick detour through Small Heath to show the contrast so your friend can fully appreciate what we are about.

You want to get a trip to the burial place of William McGregor too so that he can pay his respects - I think that's in Handsworth somewhere.
