Well into six figures apparently.

Possibly a month's wages which is a fantastic amount of money for him to donate.

Fair play Gabby. Wish we had 10 others like you in our team.

In our team? Not sure about that. I like Gabby & this donation is very impressive.

I think the sooner this season is over for Gabby (and the rest of us) the better.

Good on him - shame that the tabloids don't make as much of these sort of stories

Well Done Gabby

To be fair, neither do we. This thread has no chance of making as many pages as the Dunne/Collins thread.

Anyway, well done Gabby. A credit to your club and your city.

Nice one Gabby. I'm actually quite proud that a local lad playing for us does this kind of kind.

And in fairness, a lot of players give up a lot of their own time etc for local causes. It's just that we rarely hear about it. Fat Baz for example often went to schools etc and not just in the immediate area. He paid a visit to a school over Stratford way a few years ago and the only way I knew of it was a friend of my best mates wife was a teacher there. She got him to sign a shirt for me, and he was a big hit when he was there..

A fantastic gesture? For sure.  But I don't really like hearing about the charitable deeds of extremely wealthy individuals. It undermines what ordinary people do day-in, day-out.  In terms of disposable income, is Gabby giving £100,000 to charity really more generous than an OAP putting £10 of her state pension into a collection tin?

How many other 'extremely wealthy individuals' on a similar level do similar? Good on him, I say.

Fair enough but there can't be many kids his age prepared to give away a couple of weeks' wages to charity. And there is also that inverse relationship between wealth and donations to charity so he's against the grain on that count too. It doesn't make him super human but fair play to him, I'm proud of the lad.

The video is well worth watching. He looks like he genuinely wants to be there. He didn't need to do it. Great gesture.

Top video showing a very Top gesture.

Nice one Gabby, and nice for Villa to have some positive news.

Out of interest, is there an official H&V charity?

Excellent. It's not common enough to see footballers making these sorts of gestures. They have more money than they know what to do with, so giving some to the community is a good thing.
