Is this old Villa shirt genuine?
« on: March 04, 2011, 08:43:25 PM »
A Spanish journalist has claimed this shirt is from 'Aston Villa 1980' - but it doesn't look right to me (I was only 5, but I have seen shirts from that era and I don't remember a collar anything like this)

Has he got it completely wrong and it's a fake, or maybe it was created for a testimonial or something?  I actually quite like it, hence the question...

Looks like one of the knock-off ones people used to buy from the Swan Market.

It looks like it hasn't been ironed for over 30 years, certainly

My guess is it was a sample knocked up by Umbro but never chosen.

Oooh he's giving it away! All you have to do is identify two photos he's going to post on the morning of the Barça - Arse game ... and it's yours!!

I can tell if anything is fake or natural from 2 miles and it's fake, although I don't mind fake ones now and then!

Looks more like Burnley's 1980 top with a fake Villa badge sewn on instead.

It looks like an 80s Scunthorpe shirt which Ian Botham would have played in.
