But may I suggest some other ambassadorial appointments.

Steve Hodge in Libya.
DOL in Bahrain.
MON in Yemen.

Lee Hendrie is our Peace Envoy to Indonesia. I just hope he doesn't threaten to twat any of the home fans.

genuine question - how is he regarded by Port Vale fans?

Just checked and he scored as many goals for them (28) in 83 games as he did in 234 games for Villa.

And I met him once

It's a very good move by the club, he deserves it. Me and a mate had our photo taken with him at The Hawthorns a few years ago, he seemed a bit embarrassed by it all to be honest.

Anyone's who doubts that Ian is a legend can't have stood with him on the away end in the shit house that is small heath. Probably watching at home in the warm criticising us with their 'legend' andy gray ;-)

I'm surprised at how many away games he gets too. Him and especially Doug get my respect for still following us on our travels.

Its nice to see that they feel the same as we do about the guy. Not many of his kind around today.
