For me aswell, Ian Taylor fulfils all those criteria and is, for me, and in my opinion only, a Villa legend.

He's a good 'un as far as I'm concerned. Clearly most Villa fans feel the same, or the wouldn't have appointed him Ambassador. The Board do their research and they know us pretty well by now.

Another good move from Randy and Pals.

Taylor was a fine player for us. But Villa legend? Na, never in a million years.

I disagree.

A legend does not have to be about being the best player ever, it can also be about being a local hero, a player who always gave absolutely everything in nearly every game, and a player who was a local lad, a Villa fan and who was truly living the dream.

For me Ian Taylor fulfils those criteria and is, for me, and in my opinion only, a Villa legend.

I am with you Dave. A legend is not necessarily the best player. It's about all of those things you mentioned.

Over the moon.

An ex player who sits with the fans is most definitely deservig legendary status.

Nice one Villa.

Legend. Was always a solid and dependable player. You always got 110%.
The Gareth Barry thing? That's in the past, and at the end of the day, fat arse wanted to move, and the proceeded to half arse his way through the following season. We sold him a year too late, and in actuality, Tayl's was probably right, whether working for the agent or not, lard buttocks should have moved on.

Legend.

Might look for a 96 cup final shirt with 7 on the back.

Taylor is the nearest we've had to a fan that has played for the club, but remained a fan.

He couldn't have been more clear about the result of the match on Sunday in last nights E+S column, instead of trotting out the standard lines. That tends to set him apart and makes him so popular.

I am with you guys. And it's not as if we have that many candidates that we can really afford to be too sniffy about it to be honest

My list of Villa legends based on the above criteria doesn't amount to too many over the last 40 years and most of them would come from the league winning side

Narrow it down to the last 20 years and it is an extremely short list...
