I might be setting myself up for a load of stick now but I didn't agree with this country bidding for the olympics. I didn't agree in 2005 when they won the bid and I don't agree now.

Part of my thinking was the track record of Olympic games of massive budget overspends.

They were able to knock Stratford flat because it is a shithole. To build an Olympic Village at Crystal Palace park would have annoyed the millionaires of SE19.

They could do with knocking bits of Stratford-upon-Avon flat too. It is also a shithole (cf. traffic).

I agree. And it's a City that bids for the Olympics...but I know what you mean.

I heard Barry Hearn today going on about taking legal action against the FA and the premier league as there is a clause that no club can move into a 5 mile radius of an exisiting club - now i dont know the geography of that part of LOndon well but he think that Orient have a stone cold case - i am sure if it goes to court a quick hard cash pay off will keep the little man quiet in the face of the premiership team

the whole thing stinks

I agree with i was in favour of not getting the olympic games - waste of fucking money and all it will be is a job for the boys moneymen on the big contracts - just like the dome and wembley

I think they should let West Ham have the swimming arena instead.

They might go for that if they were allowed to put cameras in the ladies changing rooms.

I'm with you Chris. The whole thing is a massive waste of money as far as I'm concerned.

However, I have a major problem with the concept of the Olympics anyway. To me it seems a random set of events.

Also, money seems to me to end up being given to some sports and not others just because some are Olympic sports and some are not.

I was dearly hoping that new sports to be included in the Olypics would be Darts, Crib and Underwater Dwarf Taunting.

If West Ham get the stadium will they rent it? You buy west Ham with £100m debt and you get a £600m stadium thrown in for free?

Some funny comments underneath Brady's fantasy

"THE day has arrived. Finally, we kick-off in the Olympic Stadium this afternoon and we are ready".... "
----------------

"for our League 1 encounter with Hartlepool in front of 10,000 fans half a mile from the pitch in a stadium that hold 60k"
