Are We Enjoying Ourselves?
« on: February 07, 2011, 10:24:52 AM »
I mean really enjoy. When you come away from the ground walking on cloud nine. When you re-live the game in your memory and savour its highlights. It might not even be a game that we won (but it probably will be).

Perhaps it's my age, but for some time I've had this feeling of "What's it all about? Why do I put up with all this inconvenience of games on odd days at odd times? Is it really worth it?"

Am I alone in this?

The last game I enjoyed was West Ham the first game of the season as it was the only game I haven't been wracked with nerves in the last 20 mins.Even the Blackburn cup game I wasn't entirely comfortable. The Man City game at home,I actually felt like I was being tortured.

The Man City game was enjoyable, despite thinking an equaliser could happen at any moment.
Beating West Brom was a good one.
Blackburn FA cup was comfortable and we played some good stuff.

The false optimism of the West Ham game stands out.

Probably man u at home  was most enjoyable ,  but I find unless we are 3 goals ahead I can never really fold my arms and relax- huge sense of pride after the man city game but not enjoyable during the game.

After Man U I felt like hanging myself. Losing a 2 goal lead made me feel like it was a defeat.

The bit after half time was great though

Floating away from Villa Park on cloud nine is a distant memory. For the moment I'd settle for just being able to watch a game with none of the nerve-jangling tension you experience when you have a 1-goal lead with 20 minutes to go. West Ham in August was the last time I was able to relax at a home game.

Winning a hard fought game when you didn't expect to is always a more memorable experience than strolling to an easy victory so Man City for me has been the most enjoybale this season.

Yeah, I almost always enjoy the Villa.

Man Utd was frustrating but the positives were there. Same with Spurs and Arsenal (although less so). Sunderland was shite though.

Villa Park needs to become a fortress again. It's been too long since we were really reliable at home.

Man City was an ordeal while you were watching it but as soon as the final whistle went yes, I was on cloud 9.

EDIT: What REALLY got me about the Man City game (yes I know it's been complained about many times before) were the people who STILL giot up to leave with 5 minutes to go...

Same here, with Bannan and Delfouneso who were both quality, yet We haven't been seen since!
