0% Villa - Dalglish on Carroll
« on: February 04, 2011, 03:59:27 PM »
They should suit each other very well. At yesterday's press call to show off the Liverpool striker (in the true sense of the word), Carroll said "I don't mind a pint now and again, but that's the way I have been brought up. That's who I am and I am not really going to change."

Dalglish said "I am desperate to see him because I want to see one hung up in the box, in front of the Kop, and see him charging in for a header. I would love to be inside the mind of the defender who is standing underneath it waiting for it to come in, and waiting for Andy to plough over the top of him."

There's one for the Premiership referees to look out for.

Poor Suarez glanced at his interpreter while Carroll and Dalglish were speaking, as if to say ''You really understand what they're saying?!'' I can only imagine the interpreter's response.

When Dalgash was manager at the Toon, I had a mate who was a ST holder at St James.  He said he was a good manager, but he could never understand a "Fookinwordhe woor sayin"  So, that doesnt bode well for Carroll to understand what the manager shouts from the touchline. haddawayanshiteman.

So this is King Kenny's masterplan for revitalising Liverpool? "Hanging one up in the box"? If I were a Liverpool fan I'd look at that, look at the way Man Utd, Spurs, Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea play and think "is that really the way to get us challenging again?".

Something for Liverpool fans to think about :-)

I scored 24 goals heliping my side win promotion back to the Premier League aged just 22.

In my first season of top flight football I had 15 goals by January.

I scored against the reigning champions, away at Arsenal and in a home win against Liverpool.

My form earned me an England call and I made my debut in a friendly.

Am I a 35 million pound striker?

No im Michael Ricketts, Febuary 2002.

obviously he is a big risk at that money,

but i think he'l do well at Liverpool, in fact i reckon overall he will be more of a success at L'pool than Torres wil be at Chelsea.

i hate to say it, but in my view Carroll will be more Shearer than Rickets,
time will tell i suppose

Agree with that, only problem was Liverpool were desperate with Torres leaving and Newcastle knew they had £50m I would have done the same, for what its worth I think he will do ok
