A three and a half year contract to a 31, going on 32 year old is a bit excessive in my book, especially on that kind of money. In the two years he's been with us he's had a handful of good games, all except his debut, under Houllier. I'm just glad it's not my money.

IIRC Beye was on his way to Hull, having agreed a fee with Newcastle but we came in last minute with obviously better personal terms.
