A rare breed in today's English game, a full back who could actually defend and who also knew how to lend a hand in attack occasionally, without ever being "marauding". Always made the most of his ability and seemed committed and incredibly loyal to his team mates which are qulaities we would like all like from our own players. I can't honestly remember him ever being absolutley skinned in a game, even at the highest level, so he must have been half decent.
I respect his loyalty to his team mates but thought the strike idea re dodo brain Ferdinand was ludicrous. Comes across as a barrack room lawyer and strikes me as the one Newton Heath player of the past 5-10 years who could become a manager. In short, I don't like him but I htink he was a far better player than most on here give hime credit for.
Am I right in thinking that some scouse builders put a Liver bird mosaic under his swimming pool many years ago?
