When the parachuting Santa crashed into and then fell from the roof of the old Trinity at half-time of a home game against Arsenal, 13th December 1998. Trailing 2-0 at the time and not looking in it, completely different game in second half and the extended delay seemed to play a part in it.

Damon I remember that Francis hat trick for qpr but I don't think we were 2-0 at the time ? It was 1989 and if I remember rightly we lost 1-3.

Yes he took the last down on his knee and then volleyed it in, even a lot of trinity road Enders actually applauded that goal, glad he did it for qpr though and not blues.

I wouldn't call it "classic", but Richard Wright's challenge on Luc Nilis.

No one will ever know how good we'd have been that season, but I still maintain we'd have finished top 4 had he not broken his leg.

Jimmy Rimmer having the professionalism to put his hands up at Rottherdam after 9 minutes or so.

The rest is, as the say, history.............

This was the first one that came to my mind when I saw this thread. Collymore came on as sub at half time and tore Arsenal to pieces, in a way that we saw all too rarely from him. Truly game changing.

Imagine if such an injury has befallen Sasa Curcic a few minutes into his 2nd game - we'd still have been mulling over what might have been now.

I see the point you are making there, but I think we'd seen enough in the Intertoto and first couple of league games from Nilis that he was something special.

For a real game changing goal, you'll find it hard to beat this one.

That was what I was thinking as well....really don't think we were 2-0 up. He was good that day, you simply had to admit it.
