30M% Villa: Milner and Barry.
« on: January 23, 2011, 08:46:34 PM »
Well what can we say for these two after yesterday's events.

Barry was dreadful, safe to say we got the best years out of his career, I'd be surprised if he stays in the Man. City team for too much longer.

Really sad to see Milner rotting on the bench though, shows what City can do. Take the heartbeat of he club who inspired us to 6th and a cup final and he can't even get in their team.

Would've been interested to see the reception he'd have got it if he'd come on at the end.

Word is Milner is not happy at all at City - would love to see him back here again one day.

For Barry, the irony will be being left on the outside looking in when his team finally start their CL campaign next year. I think they'll be good enough to qualify, but I'm equally sure Barry won't be good enough for them when they do. As for Milner, he'll get his CL wish, but he'll be a squad player forever. CL qualification will just see them up the ante with new players, and Milner will just become the bit part player Barry wishes he was.

They'll want 15 million for Milner at least, and he's on incredible wages. The more he stays on the bench, with those figures hanging around his neck, the more toxic he becomes to potential buyers. He would be brilliant in our midfield, but I cannot envision under any circumstances us agreeing to those terms. We got a hell of deal out of Milner, and nice thought though it might be, he isn't coming back.

Sad to say, you're right Toronto. I'd rather see us go for Milner than Charlie Adam.

Neither of them will be in City's Champions League plans, they'll spend another £50m in the summer to re-enforce once they get there and they'll slip down the pecking order further.

You're right about Barry,we definitely got the best years out of him. I'd be very suprised if he's a starter next season for them.

In a weird way i'm not happy that its turned sour for Milner,as he never let us down, was consistantley our best player, but like many before, moved for the wrong reasons, knew it was gonna be a lot harder to play regular games and decided not to stay and progress as a player with the club that had helped to advance his career.

If I were Fergie I would buy Milner Rig... he epitomises the way they play.

Would LOVE him back in our midfield. Makoun, Delph and Milner, Young and Albrighton wide with Bent up top... nice.

I reckon your right there Toronto. To be honest I don't think Barry would cut it for us at the moment based on hos performance.
Bloody shame how he left us, the greedy bugger.
Swap Ireland for Milner? No cash, straight swap. Sorted.

I'd love us to make a Bid to bring Milner back, similar to Keane and Spurs when it did'nt work out at Liverpool, it's never gonna happen though, especially after shelling out on Bent, I think Jimmy would jump at the chance to come back though, sad really

Would be brilliant, I actually think he would come back aswell, but he is used just about enough for him too sit on the wages I think.

The £26million (hell even the £18million once you subtract the fee played for Blanche Du Bois) was somewhat over the odds. He isn't worth that especially if as Mancini is doing you play him as a winger.
