Baines has played well for 18 months now Dave, Everton fan I know reckons he is their most valuable asset now. Warnock just never seemed to perform consistently. First 2-3 games he was shaky and had people worried, he improved to become quite good for 3-4 months, then the injury and since he has not had a decent game that I can recall. Won't be missed at all IMO.

Clark has had 3 better games there already and he is a 20 year old centre half out of position. I would keep him there too. He has the ability and potential to be good enough going forward because he is composed and has quality on the ball, meanwhile he is much more solid defensively. He has time to play left back for 7-8 years before moving inside to centre half, and could be a really quality player.

Went from one of the best full backs i've seen at the club to one of the worst within 6 months. Very strange. If we can get £5m for him we will do very well.

Can't say I'd be too disappointed with Warnock leaving - a remarkable loss of form, sadly. Still, Clark looks like he's good enough to play there, for now.

Has warnock gone or not, or is it just a wm rumour- I've seen nothing from the club that he's gone and kendrick said yesterday villa had refused to loan him out?

The only thing that concers me is yet again (if it's true) we're offloading our only specialist left back reducing the squad numbers. So thats Walker, Makoun and Bent in, Guzan, Sidwell, Carew and Warnock (to be confirmed) out. So the squad is weaker by one player. I just wish we would only release players AFTER a replacement is already in.

With Walker on the right with pace and speed. We need to have the same on the left. Clarke is a booking away from suspension. Houllier must have someone lined up ........

Just seen a few posts from Liverpool fans about him and they seem quite shocked if he goes back there- along the lines of he was sold because he wasn't good enough in the 1st place , so why bring him back.

I'd be very surprised if we got as much as £4m back for him.

Warnock - decent going forward.  Shite, absolutely gash, at defending.  Positional sense was non-existent, clumsy tackles and didn't even bother jumping at corners.  I lost count the number of far-post goals we conceded when warnock was just fucking about scratching his nads.

CC can gain experience and learn from dunne and collins whilst playing at a position where gaffs aren't as costly as they are in the middle.  he has also shown great promise going forward with goals against the title chasers.  he is one of our best performers at present and is in the team on merit.

meanwhile that other kid we got from spurs walker looks a world beater on his day (going forward).  i think that balance of one more defensive minded centreback (clark) and one fullback who pushes on (walker) is what the team has lacked for the past few years.

be interesting to see if we are still bidding for adam now that we have captured bent and makoun.  nrc, petrov, downing, delph (when fit) all competing for places in the middle.

A fantastic signing, & no doubt a tremedous player, but he's suffered a horrendous loss of form & clearly doesn't see eye-to-eye with GH.  GH sold him once as he didn't fancy him, so you have to trust his judgement.

I have it on good authority he has been a complete twat around the club and training ground since Ged arrived.

Glad he's gone.

It does seem that one by one the bad eggs are being pushed out the door.

Clark has been a star, needs to learn when to hold back from a challenge, but that'll come with more games.

Really struggling to work out just why we declined so much over the last year.

He was really good in his first 4 months playing for us or did I just imagine i?!

Still 5m hopefully at the end of the loan is a decent recouping price.

Nope, I remember a lot of posts about him being one of the best full-backs to play for us in a couple of decades.

As someone said earlier in the thread, he then descended into one of the worst.
