Platini was a good footballer but a pain in the derrière these days.

I like my football as it is, I like my Summers like they are and so does most of UK plc.

What about the impact on Summer sports....cricket etc?
And what about my holiday ?

Two very good reasons why fannying about like this is such a bloody stupid idea.

Don't know how much it'll affect the cricket in all honesty, if Warwickshire's average attendance dropped from 200 to 100 I still don't think anyone will care.

For county league games, perhaps.  What about International Test matches, one day tournaments and internationals and 20/20?

Why not just make the season abit longer into May by having a winter break ?
as I get older(and I am being selfish) football in the warm seems a good idea to me.

One mans whim wants to change decades of tradition?

I know what you mean, but there's loads of traditions we don't adhere to anymore.

I'd love the football season to be in the summer, it'd be amazing. I'd expect the crowds would be larger too due to the warmer weather, more families and groups of friends etc. It'd be great.

I really can't see this affecting cricket crowds. The internationals bring them in no matter what.

For me football should not be played in the summer. I'm of on holiday or enjoying weekends away with the missus or relaxing in the park with my friends. Football works so well in the winter because what else would you do on a Saturday afternoon?

In the summer though there are plenty of distractions.

If this gets pushed through watch england, Germany, spain, Italy and the Netherlands pull out of both FIFA and uefa and set up a competing governing body.

This is in no ones interest bar the Russians and the Arabs. European football is about cold winter nights not sweaty humid afternoons.

It'll affect their income from TV. Sky won't be bothered to put so much cricket on when it can show Premier League games.

Football is not a summer game. Fuck off Platini and shame on everyone supporting it.

Summer football? No thanks.

It's about as daft as going to Blackpool in early February, who'd do that?

watch and wait, our prime time Saturday 3PM kickoffs in November will be spent watching the Hyundai A-League.

In that case you'd need to be pretty desperate for a football fix then, it's shocking.
Brisbane Roar vs Adelaide United sounds more exciting than Birmingham vs Stoke - atleast you would be in for a surprise.

90 minutes of not knowing what to expect and seeing divers being sent off on the spot, or 90 minutes of long throw ins and hoofing a ball up to a 6ft8 striker who still can't head the ball? I know what I'd rather watch.

What a nerve, Stoke V Small Heath was a very entertaining game, finished 3-2, 2-2 after being 2 up. SMA lost what more do you want?

Not to mention this goal from Fuller!
