Any thoughts? genuine advice required
« on: January 18, 2011, 10:48:44 PM »
Ive just noticed that skybet are running a managers special on whether houllier will be in charge for the remainder of the season. They currently have him at 5/6 to see the season out, which to me seems bat sh*t mental, seeing as:
a) theyve not sacked him at the prime time when window opened and we were in drop zone
b) they have given him their full backing and stated that they have no intention to sack him
c) randy has just opened his warchest and handed him 30m to do as he chooses
d) we are surely only going to improve with the new men. we also have a fairly easy run in.

Down to business....can anyone give a sensible, rational answer as to why i should not load the maximum 300notes on this with a tasty return of 550 big ones just in time for a summer jolly? Am i missing something?

They are - and in this situation they are saying it's most likely that he'll end up staying at Villa.

I'd be astounded if he weren't Villa manager by the time Liverpool come to Villa Park.

Ask yourself this question? Will Bent's goals get us 6 wins-we have Fulham and Blackburn at home soon and Wigan away, would you say that's 3 possible wins? Even better if we sign another striker? Cummings Klose? Go for it! I going to have a go too.

It you have any semblance of respect for "form", you wouldn't risk a £300 max bet.

Put your money on Bent to be top English goalscorer, still just over 5/2 on Betfair.

I suppose what you have to ask yourself is are we likely to continue to struggle and if we do to what extent?  With the fixtures we have left and the signing of Darren Bent I think we will go on a nice little run that will see us in the top half.  Add to that the fact that Randy has given him his full backing and I;d say your 300 quid is safe.

Take it up a notch, get on to Ocean Finance, borrow £10 G's and lump the lot on
You'll net a tidy profit

I think he will be here for the next 3 yrs and if he Is expect him during that time to really
to build a very good team and provide us with some great times ahead- in fact I still think we could finish at least top 10 this season, a decent run of results and we could shoot up as many as 10 places- there is a long way to go yet this season.

Yup, the above are right, barring the most shocking run of results/injuries Mr Lerner as quite categorically made a statement this week that he backs Houllier to the hilt.
You could, alternatively, go and get VERY pissed on £300... I know what I'd be doing.

Bookies also like bets where they take your money now but won't have to pay out until May. That way they can speculate the money in the meantime and make their money back even if you eventually win. You can usually get much better odds on teams for say, the next World Cup, a few years in advance, even for teams that have already qualified / will definitely qualify.
