A Hereford sporting legend is recovering in hospital after being dragged out to sea by huge waves while he played football on the beach with his daughter.

While the former right back has made progress, there are renewed fears for the family and friends as Queensland's horrifying floods continue to dominate the headlines.

Chirs, also a former aston villa and Blackburn Rovers player, had been enjoying a game of football on the beach with his youngest daughter and her boyfriend. Minutes later they found Chris face doen in the water. They dragged him onto the sand before a lifeguard assisted them.

Chris was put on Oxygen but went into cardiac arrest and stopped breathing. He was taken to resuscitation and intensive care once he eventually arrived at the hospital following traffic problems.

Someone mentioned on Twitter that he'd been rushed to hospital, but this is all I could find about it online (courtesy of a Blackburn Forum who found it in the Herefordshire Journal.

Either way get well soon Chris and fingers crossed your family/friends get found alive.

EDIT - Just noticed Mark Kelly mentioned it in Off Topic too in the Global Warming thread.

Get well soon Chris - I was there when you scored 'that' goal at Highbury the day after my 21st birthday. Great night.

He used to booze in our local pub when I was younger, he liked a few beers and was always willing to have a chat with anyone. A good bloke,

Good little player was Chrissy Price, he signed around the same time as Mountfield if memory serves me correct.

Get well soon Chris.

My abiding memory is of his backpass at Oldham but then again that might say more about me than him.

My abiding memory is the 89th minute at Highbury in 1990.  Delirium on the Clock End.  Oh, what a night!

As my user name might suggest he was a particular favourite from my younger days. Loved to see him bombing forward and he made the most of his talent.
