I'll believe it when he's holding our shirt with a big cheesie grin on him.

Would certainly add a bit of solidity to our midfield.  Believe when see.

Best central midfielder we will have signed in 5 years maybe? Milner was bought as a winger, and Makoun is better than the rest so chuffed IF he signs, always thought he looked a good player. Fair play to Houllier, he is clearly pro active in the market from early form. Get his men on the pitch and we can start to judge, good start with Walker, lets hope Makoun can come and give the central midfield some like, god knows it needs it.

Really good signing this one, an upgrade on NRC.

I've always thought of him as a defensive midfielder but he can play more attacking aswell apparently. Has scored away to Real Madrid and Barca in recent seasons.

Obviously question if he can adapt to the pace here but most Africans seem to without much trouble.

A good start to the window if this is imminent.

Houllier has gone to France has he not? I assume to deal with this. It's fairly likely if he has gone over.

He sounds like the type of player we have been needing for over 3 years. If Mr Woodhall reckons it's happening, it almost certainly will. Very pleased. If we can sign the goalscorer we have needed for 3 years as well, i might just start to have a bit of faith in Houllier, because at least he will have started to address the major holes in the team that MON couldn't seem to.

In fairness Houllier seems to be decent at identifying the weaknesses in the squad.

We need more pace at full back position so Walker has been signed and Figueroa is being apparently purusued.

For different reasons, Petrov (age) and NRC (contract) are coming to the end of their spells here so Houllier will replace the composure and bit each offer with Makoun and Adam being targeted.

But ultimately you can do all the decent squad building you like, we need results on the pitch a.s.a.p.

According to L'Equipe, he cost 14m€ two and a half years ago but will join us for 6m€, plus 3m€ performance related. Why would they accept a loss on a 27 year old?
