Paul McGrath DVD - My Life and Football
« on: January 08, 2011, 07:25:34 PM »
Has anyone else seen this DVD.
It came out just before christmas and probably only in Ireland as it pretty much concentrates on his Irish career.
It has very little game footage but does contain much praise for Jim Walker and SGT.
Man Ure come out stinking of....well manure for their behaviour when they signed him and and how he was treated by them in general.
Plenty interviews including Paul, Ray Houghton, Jack Charlton and Vincent Hogan who wrote "Back From The Brink" with Paul.
Not the greatest production ever and doesn't cover anything not mentioned in the book but well worth the 10 Euro  i got it for the other day.

No worries.
Alot is made in the DVD of Charltons decision to play Paul in central midfield as he has other good centre backs at the time.
I couldn't help thinking how we could do with him in there now.

Swedish TV had no half time analysis today, instead a feature on McGrath, most enjoyable 60 mins of watching the Villa for sometime.

There is no Villa footage at all Eamonn, just a few grainy photos of SGT and BFR. There is some footage of Irish games but not alot. Its nearly all just interviews.

Thanks for posting that Gervilla. Read about the DVD coming out at the time but was surprised not to find it here. Your comments help to explain why - this now makes sense. Shame about the lack of Villa footage but sounds like it's worth seeing anyhow. Will get a copy next time I'm over in Ireland.

How can you have a DVD about one of the finest defenders in the world and hardly any game footage?

I would guess if you are making it on the cheap.
