This could be the first positive move we have made in the transfer for some time!

Good riddance ginger bo**ocks!

Good riddance to the most useless pile of cack ever to wear a claret and blue shirt (West Ham and Burnley included).

Bit harsh he wasn't that bad, there have been worse.

Fair enough Steve.

I never thought Sidwell was good enough for a top 6 team, not a bad bloke in a relegation scrap maybe

Never worked out for him/us and for the best that he has left for pastures new but I wish we'd leave off the good riddance stuff.

Why?  We were paying him 50 odd grand a week to not play for us.  Surely it makes sense to thank the lord he has gone.  Plus he was sodding useless.

"On the pitch he can get from box to box, he works tirelessly, is good on the ball and can also get you a goal."

Sounds about right. He scored a goal in his time here at Villa; against Everton, right? Honorable mention for his sideline assist...

He scored a cracker at Wigan too. I always saw him as a really poor version of Frank Lampard; let him make late runs into the box and surround him with midfielders capable of covering up for his technical deficiencies and he'd probably score a decent amount of goals, as he did in his good season at Reading.

Good lump off the wage bill.

I will miss his very expensive cloak of invisibility.

3 medicals at 3 clubs in a week must love having his balls cupped by a doctor and coughing let alone the rectal probe.

No offence to him but he won't be missed.  The fact that he earns (and probably will continue to earn ) 50k a week for his contributions sums up football today really.

And your views on the new manager/club paying £90,000 pw for Man Citeh's 3rd choice left back who is aged 29

I wasn't that unhappy to see Barry go as I thought Sidwell would evolve into a better player, more mobile, bigger goal threat etc.

Its up there with thinking Mark Blake would go on to be world class.

I'm glad we have got him off the wage bill now hopefully we can go out and bring one in to replace him.

He was pretty poor but not as bad as some are saying. Glad he's gone though, it might free up a wage to bring someone in.
