I simply can't see us being involved in the relegation battle for much longer, even if we do lose tonight and in the cup.
I'm not so sure, I think Lerner will give him as long as possible to turn this round, because they view it as a long-term plan Houllier is putting in place, plus there are too many extenuating factors to solely blame the manager for Vill'a current predicament. It's not like we're adrift in the league, you put two or three good results together and you shoot up the league table. And with the run of games we have from mid-feb onwards, Houllier will be without any excuses come the end of the season. I simply can't see us being involved in the relegation battle for much longer, even if we do lose tonight and in the cup.

The substance of what he says is not really that controversial. I wish players were allowed to have opinions like this in England without everyone fainting with shock.
