He was a perfect example of what is wrong with modern football. Plenty of talent, but the wrong attitude.

I bet he is skint too.

At least he will now be able to save on what he spent on spray tans and sunbeds.

The bloke was a first class tosser

off his face on Broad Street too many times
the ferrari incident at tamworth
The steve bruce incident

The best interview which summed him up perfectly was prior to the FA Cup Final in 2000 when the interview said "what would you be doing if you weren't a footballer Lee2/

his reply; "On the dole"

Used to love his goals and his dummies inside the box for the likes of Merson and Dublin

Had a great talent but a piss poor attitude - shame as the really great players have both in abundance

Remember the lower league team we were playing, can't remember who, he said to one of their players
'You can come and clean my Porsche if you like.'
Odious panda eyed little twat.

Wasn't it a non-league team like Stafford or Dave Cooper's lot?

No, i'm certain it was a lower league team we played in the League cup.

From the Daily Mail

So perhaps he can be excused his half-time, petty outburst, giving his Charlie Big Potatoes impression to Colchester's Kem Izzet, who revealed: "He said 'You can come and wash my Ferrari if you like'.

It was indeed Tamworth.
Pre-season friendly, he'd already been sent off for fighting.

After not being provoked in the slightest by tough-as-boots lower league hardmen dishing it out I'm sure. If you can't take it etc.

Hendrie should have gone to Holland or another country on the continent when he didn't get a look-in with MON. There was talk of Ajax being interested. Might have made him grow up a bit and could have had an Indian summer in a less-physical league. Will always have a soft spot for him and Luke Moore though, talented lads who let it slip away. Still time for Luke to turn it around I suppose.

Nick Cave & PJ Harvey paid tribute to him years ago.

Not much twat of a footballer can claim that.

Some great goals though.

He was a bit like "Nuke" Laloosh in the movie Bull Durham:

A million dollar talent with a 5 cent brain.
