Spurs may not offer him much different in wages but they can offer him a much better chance of playing at the highest level in the champions league and for England- plus he's a London lad .
Ash is a footballer and it's his job to better himself, he is not a villa fan and I don't think he would turn down a better offer if he gets it,Maybe with albrighton or gabby it is different as they are villa fans as well as players.
Personally I think Liverpool will be his destination unless man utd make a move for him.

What have Liverpool honestly got to offer him? Spurs maybe, but he'll be on the bench a lot of the time like Milner's finding out. Also, it's going to be very hard for either of those teams to be playing CL football next year, especially Liverpool. Spurs will likely have to win the thing, because they need to beat out Arsenal, Man City, Man U and Chelsea for an automatic spot. It's not going to be easy at all.

Plus, he's not a London lad at all. He's from Hertfordshire where I think he still lives. That's like saying someone's a Brummie but they're from Tipton.

Nursey is a Bluenose. Well known factoid.

Until we get into the champions league and attract top players we will always be liable to lose our best players to so called bigger clubs- this is where it's frustrating that we had a great chance to do that a couple of years ago and o neill screwed things up.

Now the money has in the main been wasted and we find ourselves starting to rebuild all over again- I feel houllier will be the right man but it will take time and patience.I am however very excited about the future under gerard and see him as giving us the bright future we all wish for.

I don't want him to leave but who do you think will buy him Spurs who already have players in his position, Arsenal i can't see it, Chelsea maybe they need to freshen thing's up.

He'd take a circuitous route via Wales and Yorkshire, and end up overshooting into the Irish sea.

I hope he doesn't go, and we do need to get some momentum as a club moving forward again.

Wikivilla , intersting theory on city- I would want Santa cruz and maybe lescott or Johnson in part exchange although we have had our fingers burnt already with taking Ireland from them.

Can't see city wanting ash to be honest- he hasn't been the same player as he was 2 yrs ago for quite some time now- that day at everton was my greatest memory of him , a wonderful moment in time.

You know, I'm really beyond caring.  Another of our better players wants to leave? So be it.  Negotiate the best deal we can, don't accept any part-exchange cast-offs, and move on.

As it so happens, the Ashley Young we've had playing for us for most of the last twelve months or so won't be missed.
