Sorry I don't see this as particularly good news.  Brad has been excellent in some games but piss poor in others.  His good games are getting fewer and further between for me.  He's starting to look increasingly flat-flooted, lacking in agility and vulnerable on crosses. I think his uncertainty is part of our problem at defending set-pieces and  I don't think he should be our no. 1 if we can find a replacement.  Happy to have him as backup as I don't think Guzan is good enough.

Paul Robinson would be my choice if we are going in for an English based keeper.

Misleading title, not backed up by the quotes. We need to move on from Friedel, a great back up keeper if he wants to stick arounf. We should go for Given

I want a new goalkeeper around 27 rather than 35 (Givens) but we doesn't need to rush to buy one. If the German is available on free and is good enough for long term and we can sign him up.

I can't see why anyone would want to spend £4-5 million on Given when money is going to be tight. If we can pick up the best performing keeper in Germany who is 7 years younger for nowt.

I don't necessarily take that as good news, he's declining and on a massive wage.

He's still a good keeper, but his lacks athleticism and he's suddenly gone dodgy on crosses.

Yeh we can do worse, but we could do alot better too.

I wouldn't give up on Guzan yet, he's had some very good games for us in the cups yet seems to havwebenn permanently written off due to two dodgy games against Blackburn.

I'd loan him to a prem club like Bolton have done with Al Habsi who's been brilliant for Wigan.

As for who to get in, Westwood looks fantastic for Coventry, Shaw Given should be an option aswell.

Friedel has been good for us but towards end of last season you could see he wasn't going to cut it much longer and I'm afraid guzan isn't the answer. I would love given even for a couple of seasons
