...he has gone 18 months without playing regular first team football...
This is starting to become an internet myth. Not defending Ireland in the slightest (in fact it strips an excuse away to a certain extent), but last season Ireland played 19 times for City up to 19th December 2009 (the point Hughes was sacked) and continued to be a regular up to February under Mancini.

Shame he is such a fuckwit as the deal initially could have gone either way. He didn't want to leave MC so could have gone all out to prove it was a mistake selling him. Alternatively, he could act like a dickhead and continue to prove a point that he didn't want to go anywhere. Unfortunately he went for the second option but he seems too stupid to reallise that MC don't care what he now does and we're paying the price for having an ungrateful, uninterested clown at the club.
I usually see the best in people before writing them off, however in this instance, I see nothing but disrespect for himself, Aston Villa and us fans and therefore can't sympathise with him.

I do wonder how things would be with Ireland if Dunne was happy with Houllier.

Indeed Nick.  Ireland pretty well played all the time when he was fit last season.

Why he didn't want to Leave City is beyond me. Hadn't played in 2 years? Or was he happy to sit and collect his money there.

My toilet blocked last night. It's Ireland's fault. The useless tosser.

Maybe someone should remind him that Richard Dunne doesn't pay his wages, Aston Villa do.

I was all for Ireland coming in as part of the Milner deal, but it's been an absolute disaster.  Can't wait to see us get him off the wage bill, though it'll probably mean us making a big loss on him.  Yet another nail in the coffin for my interest in football, which is lukewarm these days at best.

Comparing Ireland to Curcic is unfair.  I remember Sasa having at least one great game for us, I think it might have been against Derby.
