I also met Matthius Breitkreutz at the Villa shop about 17 years ago... I was buying the calendar, he was a nice guy, he signed the calendar for me. I wonder what happened to him after he left us?

I saw Colin Gibson filling his car up at the Tesco petrol station by the Beggars Bush a few weeks back.

Used to see Villa players every day when I was at Sutton college in the mid-90s.  My personal favourite was seeing Nii Lamptey buying a camera and a handful of films from Supa Snaps the day before the trip to Inter.  Another memorable one was sitting eating lunch with a Smethwick-following mate the day after the Trabzonspor debacle.  Andy T missed a sitter, trying to take a shot on his left peg when he could easily have scored with his right.  We saw him walking towards us, my mate shouted "Unlucky last night Andy" and he went "thanks".  Then my mate chips back "shame you've only got one foot".  Daggers wouldn't be doing the look he gave us justice.  I went bright red.

Luke Young and Andy Townsend, both in Solihull town centre in recent times.

Not shopping related but saw Melberg and Sorensen at a Foo Fighters gig at the NEC and Nobby Solano out with his Mrs in Sutton, both about 5 years ago.

Once stalked Steve Watson in Sainsburys in Sutton for 5 minutes.

Darius Vassell used to live down my road so used to see him driving up and down Penns Lane all the time.

Had a mate who lived on the same road as Allback, again just outside Sutton so another I'd see sometimes.

Nigel Spink and Tony Morley still live in Walmley so see them in the co-op on occasions.

Me and my mate saw Dennis Mortimer walking through the passage by BHS between Union Street and New Street in the 1981 close season.  We reported back to other friends that he was now clean shaven, but they didn't believe us and reckoned we'd spotted some other random bloke.

I've never seen a Villa player shopping, but in approximately 1987, I did see Newcastle saviour and legend Mirandhinha ("We've got Mirandinha, he's not from Argentina, he's from Brazil, he's fucking brill") in Eldon Square WH Smiths in Newcastle (which, WHS being what they are, probably looks exactly the same even today).

He had a big grin which said "I don't speak the language, so I'll just grin" and his wife looked like a small, over made-up transexual.
