He could  be saying "Shame we  were  playing Wigan and not Liverpool as Liverpool are such a big massive fantastic club/city/town/ that they would have cleared snow off the streets and played the game. They are wonderful club/city and  and I am so lucky to be in a job that is less than 100 miles from that fantastic club/city"

Its a woman thing generally that. When you get them all together physically its worse though, the noise is unbearable. And it's all pretty humourless. At least this thread made me chuckle.
