0% Villa - Blatter's statement on Qatar & homosexuals
« on: December 14, 2010, 08:52:20 AM »
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9284186.stm

The intolerance of homosexuals in Qatar wasn't something that even crossed my mind when the country was announced as the host for 2022.

As far as I'm concerned, this is yet another reason why it was a stupid decision to award them the World Cup.

What's the view in H&V-land?

Should FIFA take into account whether a host country has discriminatory laws ?

[EDIT - just realised that when England awarded the 1966 World Cup, this country also had such laws]

The thought here is that Blatter couldn't be more of an obnoxious ****** if he tried.

I despise him. He looks like the bastard child of Phil Collins and Bob Hoskins come back from some evil future to ruin football.
I'm not saying I want him to get hit by a bus or anything though because that would be terrible. Really terrible.

Of course they should take it into account, they've awarded a World Cup to a country that classes being born a certain way illegal.

Fat greedy morons.

My love of modern football dies a little bit every day.  I just won't be bothering with international football in any form any more.

Agree Martin.
I lost interest in the national side ages ago, unless it's Villa involved I no longer have much interest in football matches full stop.

I followed England all around the World watching them play. I gave up after the Japan world cup. I can't even watch them on TV now... it's shit.

Why did they have to award it to Qatar anyway with that much heat even with air conditioning it's going to be unbearable.

Incredible quote from Blatter

Fifa president Sepp Blatter says gay fans travelling to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar should "refrain from any sexual activities".

He might just as well have said 'No gays allowed.'

Maybe the Swiss should refrain from laundering and profitting from such monies as Nazi gold.

"Qatar gave us a shit load of money and all manner of gifts and endorsements, so they can hang gays up by their goolies with cheesewire for all I care" said the ethusiastic FIFA chief. Allegedly.

It's almost worth going gay for the month just to annoy FIFA/Blatter.

I know he/they answer to no-one but I can't see how he can carry on after coming out with a load of shit like this.  It's 2010 for god's sake.
