Next 2 games...
« on: December 07, 2010, 11:43:23 AM »
Our next 2 games are West Brom (H) and Wigan (A). Both teams, I would expect, will be involved in the relegation dogfight (notwithstanding WB's impressive start- I think they will fall away).

If we can't get 6 points from these 2 games, who will we be able to put 2 wins in a row against? If we can't do that, are we not certainties for a relegation battle? Or am I engaging in hyperbole when it comes to  the situation we are in?

Either way, 2 games where last season, anything less than 6 points would have been disaster, now seem crucial for not only our season, but the short-mid term future of the club.

I think the next two games are crucial to our season win them and we can go on a winning run lose them and we are deep in the brown stuff.

I don't think it matters one jot who we are playing at the moment.

The club and especially the players need a kick up the rear end and some mean motivation, to stop this meandering and meaningless show we have from Houllier

Hopefully we'll have Heskey and NRC back for these games, we need to win both.

Is it a reflection on how bad we actually are that we are now flapping about getting wins over west brom and wigan ?

Last night was poor, very poor and i cant see how Heskey and NRC coming back to fitness makes anything better ?

I think staying up will rely on there being 3 worse teams in the division,West Ham and Wolves certainley are worse than us but who else is  ?

I think we'd lose to both West Ham and Wolves if we played them now

I don't think we need to win them both.  Based upon recent results 4 points will do me, but I'm not convinced we'll take more than 3.  Wigan will be tough away.

Agreed, must get 4 points at least.

I think we can win the next 2, it was always going to be a difficult few weeks with a full team out. But now i think we'll step up for the next game, then we'll take 3 points from Wigan giving us some good confidence for a home game v Spurzzz
Keep the faith lads!

2 huge games - relegation 6 pointers !! (god I hope I am joking), but we MUST show signs that we get results however ugly just get the result - performances can come later.  IF we are to win these who are we going to have back for Saturday ?? We need somebody to play instead of Clarke who will be suspended - although I would just go 442 and go for it as we have proved we cannot defend at the moment so might as well try the score more than they do approach !

Reminded me of when we went to Leeds with DOL and he was all waves to the Leeds fans and nothing to us, we are in a battle and we need to face up to it. I also worry where our next win is coming from.

I thought NRC would be back by now, sure when he got injured at Fulham he was only going to be out for 2-3 weeks?

We need him in the middle against WBA.

And West Brom won't be?  I can't see how anyone could think we will beat WBA on current form.  They are a good side, playing well with a good manager.  The opposite of us.
