Happy Birthday God. Hope you have many more. Best player I've ever seen pull on a Villa shirt.

Sorry if I caused anyone's heart to miss a beat with the ambiguity of the thread title, It was not intentional.

I was just flicking through the book  "The Villans - A  day to day life", by Graham Betts, as I logged on to H and V .

As probably Villas greatest living player I thought it worthy of a mention.

What a boost it would be to the development of the youngsters coming in to the first team, to have Paul McGrath in the line up.

Happy Birthday To Paul McGrath :) He is a joy to watch. He gave me most pleasure to watch him in action compare to other footballers.

I hope we are trying to teach our young defenders to play football the Paul McGrath way.

One of the greatest centre halves ever to play the game.  ;D

He's right up there with legends likes of Beckenbauer, Moore, Baresi, Scirea, Wright, Charles, Hansen and Lawro. He was really trhat good.  8)

In the modern era, only Fabio Cannavaro comes anywhere near McGrath's quality. I reckon he could do a job in the Premier League even now in his late 30's.

Me too.
He's the only player who I deliberately went to the top of the Witton Lane stand to watch, just to see how majestic his defending was. All these little claret and blue dots yet one stood out, just superb.
Happy birthday big man

I find that it's impossible for me to watch those videos of Paul, such as the ones posted earlier in this thread, without tears coming into my eyes. You feel the physical pain in those legs and the mental pain in that tortured mind. What a fighter; what a man.

Happy birthday to a remarkable survivor. I hope he is enjoying whatever the life is that he leads now.

My heart skipped a beat also!

51? When did he leave Villa? Don't seem that long ago!

Happy Birthday God
