Feck me...my heart was racing a bit when I read the thread title. Thought something might have happened to him. 51...still a lot to live for. Hope he reminds himself of that when he needs to.

I remember him scoring an own goal versus QPR at loftus Road. His status at the club was such that the o.g. was celebrated as if it was a Villa goal.
It was possibly the same game where a very young dwight yorke received so much abuse from villa fans that I amazed he stayed at the club as long as he did. He was pretty much universally slated.
I'm not sure whether those events actually happened, but for whatever reason that is how I remember it.

Just finished reading Back From The Brink today. Happy Birthday Macca. Without a doubt the best player I've ever seen wear the shirt.
I wish some of the divs at the back of the Holte were able to read and then they might think twice before constantly singing the "on the piss" nonsense...
