I really can't wait till next session when all these young lada will have a bit more experience and a full pre season together with Houllier

The best part is we have tied down every single good prospect.

The future is bright.

Let's hope it's not in division 2!

If this young lad is anything like the hype, we've done a marvellous bit of business.

Not seen much of him but like everyone else I've heard good things, we seem to be getting all these promising lads under contract and that bodes well.

I think Gary might have to try a bit harder than the other lads to become a crowd favourite but lets hope his talent propells him into our first team rather than him struggling and having to lower his ambitions.

Gardner, Hogg, Bannan, Albrighton, Herd, Delph.  Some good up and coming talent coming through,

Plus Clark.

I've been impressed by the two full-backs in the reserve and youth team, Berry and Deeney. Not much gets past them and they both like getting forward.

Had Gary been fit during our injury blip, where do people think he would have been introduced?  Before Clark?  Before Hogg?  Even before Bannan?

He's only 18 isn't he? Not sure he's played that many games in the reserves yet dso probably won'tbe introduced for a year or two?

Never seen him play but I have heard good things and its important to keep the youth going as these lads are our future! Just look at Albrighton

I don't think age is going to come into it personally look at our average age at the moment. If your good enough then your old enough i say

Is he still injured? He did something quite serious if I remember.

he is close to a return after knee ligament injury yossarian...

i have no doubt he would have been ahead of clark and most definately hogg...

houllier does seem to have taken a likening to bannon, and he is older so may have started ahead of him, but it would have been close... he most certainly would have gotten game time, of that i am 100% sure...

hopefully the new deal will end the speculation of benitez taking him to internazionale...

this with him being injured and houllier never seeing him... however, the backroom staff of cowans and the like, are very excited about him, and rightfully so, as am i, and have convinced the club to give him a new contract...

excellent news...

at least the young players, and the academy, have been a continued positive on a season that has been so dissappointing...

I remember seeing Gardner for the first time a couple of years ago for the reserves against Fulham.

He came on as a sub and alsmost immediately pushed himself to the head of the queue to take a free-kick on the edge of the box. He then curled it over the wall, past the 'keper and just inside the post.

Hmm, I thought, not bad for an Academy kid...

Watched Gardner get a hat-trick and i can tell you he would of been picked well before Hogg and Clarke. He is gonna be special. 6ft 1 and two great feet. Superb free kick taker ......
