« on: November 29, 2010, 06:13:48 PM »
The rumour mill seems to be turning at a thousand miles an hour at the moment regarding wednesdays game.
Here is one ive heard today
West Mids Police are asking West Mids Travel to supply buses to take Villa fans back to Aston after the game en masse.

I don't want to go back to Aston.  We'll be parked somewhere around the sty.

It's a bit late to organise something like this.

Even it it were possible to organise, where would they park the buses?  Wouldn't the buses be open targets for abush by the idiots looking for trouble?

Again, its a rumour i heard today,i suppose we will only know on wednesday
I think it might be pie in the sky,but lets be honest win, lose, draw there will be large scale trouble unfortunatley
A place not for the faint hearted come 10pm,i wouldnt be surprised if it is on the same scale of nastiness not seen since the game in the 2nd division when Bruno scored the headers
I really cant see the Police just filming the trouble and then knocking doors at 6am a few weeks later, they ill no doubt deploy the TSG to keep a lid on it and they are a law unto thereselves.

Judging by the weather forecast I've just seen it'll be too cold to hang around after the game for trouble.  However, any idiots who do hang about, I think snowballs containing goodness knows what could be a problem.

These predictions of armageddon could become a self fulfilling prophecy, why is this one going to be any worse than the others?

The fact that its a night game, the pubs will have been open all day and that fans off both sides will have been drinking
for a fair part of the day

Add in the fact that our performances are not exactly the best at the moment, our horrific injury list, and coming off the back of a bit of a hiding from arsenal, makes the rags think they have a better than average chance of winning the game.

Two potential reasons; one it's a night game and history of night derbies would suggest it's likely to go off. Two, one of their old main faces got sat on his arse by a young Villa lad, who is something of a handy boxer, after the game the other week.

I met him last week, nice fella as it happens.

I cant see it myself, there is going to be a spot of bother in town but there will be that many coppers and cameras round the ground I cant see it being any worse than usual.

Think about this one for a second. How likely is it that they'd take everyone back to Aston without telling them before?

About as likely as it was to start doing the big escort through Digbeth without telling everybody ??
