The Injury List
« on: November 28, 2010, 11:20:20 PM »
I have just checked on physioroom.com and it seems quite up to date seeing as it already includes Kaboul and Van Der Vaarts injuries from today.

First, Albrighton is not expected to return until 18th December.  Petrov not expected to return before February 2011, Hogg has no return date.  Heskey pleasingly(!) is expected to be back on 6th December!

Interestingly neither Reo Coker or Gabby are listed on there as injured.  Does this mean they are fit again.

I would not normally post a thread such as this unless we were down to our bare bones going into our biggest game of the season.

I guess they are all back training tomorrow, which means they might be available but not fully fit, i guess Gabby and NRC will start but nieter will get 90 minutes

Gabby was ill not injured at the weekend so should be ok for Wednesday. NRC is the one we really need to see back.

I can never understand why the club do not offer , especially in times like this, offical updates on players injuries

not mentioning it stops liability of physios, and prevents upcoming teams knowing too much about what you have would be my guess.

That website is a useful guide, however, I wouldn't bank on it being 100% accurate.

Are you saying that the SHA game is Villa's biggest game of the season ?

If so, I'd disagree. Villa's current league position means that the Carling Cup, even if it does involve a game against SHA, has lost a lot of its importance.

If we had any other players to bring in, I'd be tempted to rest as many as possible against SHA

I don't think we will be in a  relegation battle once all the injuries have cleared up and I expect him to add to the squad in January.  However, we are not going to pull up any trees this season in the league.  Therefore in the context of the season it is a huge game as we will again be one tie away from a cup final should we win.

Having NRC and Gabby back would be a major boost as these are the two areas we seem to most be struggling in.  NRC especially should help pretect our now wobbly defence.

He may well be needed Wednesday with Collins injured and Dunne's lack of form

Our recent dip in form/results is down to the loss of Albrighton i think.  He was excellent against Manure, but badly missed his direct approach against Blackburn and the Arse.  Still, SHA are shite, so i can still see us beating them fairly comfortably, but as for going on ahead of that, desperately need new signings and speedy recoveries.

I thought Hogg was on the bench on Saturday.
