I'm not sure that I'd like to return to the old fragmented lion, but your attempt is very nice, mate.

The current "crest" is simply appalling as a Graphic Design. Yellow Lion on Light blue? Shield shape weak.
Who are AVFC? Aston Villa is our name. "Prepared" as an afterthought. And the proud Star relegated. The solid rather than fragmented Lion is also weak and looks like a cartoon. The fragmentation ( for want of a better description) is correct in heraldic terms.

Sorry, but the old round badge was much better and even better still, the very old fifties -sixties shield. We should have built around those. Claret Lion on Sky Blue. At least we don't have the bloody stripes.

The fact that we are still discussing this proves to me that we have issues with a very weak design.

Made this a few months ago, just to see if I could update the old round badge (which I love) & make the new one a bit less...pants. Knowing you lot, you'll hate it.

Nice assumption.

Don't like the amount of unused blue on the badge but I'm not fussed about it. looks a bit like a childs creation, but again, not that fussed. Would prefer to see Aston Villa on the badge also, but I can live without it. I wish the lion wasn't so yellow.

It's the yellow lion on the light blue background that's the worst part for me. It's never sat right with me and looks like something a 15 year old designed on his bedroom PC.
It's the poorest thing Lerner has done since taking over, in my opinion.

It's a lot better than the real thing.

Do you know who designed it?

It's the yellow on a light blue background that makes it look so insipid, your lion is better than the one we have though, and we definitely should have 'Aston Villa' rather than 'AVFC'.

Lerner himself wasn't it? I think it was probably one of his kids though.

I like the new badge but I would make a couple of changes...

AVFC should be replaced with ASTON VILLA FC

The star should be above the badge, instead of within it!

That's correct.

It obviously pales into insignificance in comparison with other problems at the club at the moment, but I've also always hated the current club crest. I notice today that Man City are unveiling a new crest on Boxing Day that looks Like a really well judged piece of graphic design to me. I wonder if relegation might be the opportunity to relaunch a new better run stage of the history of the club, and kill off this hollow 'Proud history bright future' bollocks once and for all.
