Like I said General-the usual arguments. I hope we can move on now as I doubt we need to say more.

The words of someone who realises they've screwed up and is attempting to save face.
An apology would've been more appropriate.
Your right Adam. I apologise General. Appeasement is always best.

I can see a thread here. You would have appeased Hitler. You would have appeased Hirihito. And now you want to appease the General because you can't win.

General,

Why do you bother replying to ignorant ill informed statements?

I can, however, fully understand why you feel the need to.

WOW! Those last couple of pages were stunning.
Regardless of whether or not you agree with US Foreign Policy (and it makes me shake my head), regardless of whether you feel indebted to soldiers past and present, surely to God you have to have some respect for a man that has reached the absolute top of his chosen profession? Whatever that profession may be...doctor, lawyer, footballer, teacher, politician, businessman...to get to the absolute top takes some doing. I think I'd even have respect for the top dog in the Taliban: he's got there because he's dedicated and determined. And you simply have to respect that.

Signed and sealed "subject to" I believe is the term.

That is a contradiction though isn't it. How was Milner allowed play against West Ham. If he had got injured would City have pulled the deal? To my mind it doesnt make any sense. Signed and sealed means exactly that, this deal evidently wasn't until after the West Ham game.

The whole deal should have been pulled once MON left and a straight cash deal for Milner instead mooted if we badly needed the cash as seems to be the case.

I'll be interested to see what money is made available in January to be honest.

Can we stop the arguing and drifting off topic and leave this thread for questions to the General, please?

its pretty difficult to read this stuff without passing comment, so maybe the mods need to start moderating and deleting posts that are so off topic

Don't you ever stop. Give it a rest Brontebilly you've had your answer, just accept it. You've worse than my missus for going on and on and on and on and on (smiley face).

I've just come to this thread hoping to read some informed, useful dialogue between the General and us, the caring, motivated supporters of this unique institution, Aston Villa, and nearly all the content is irrelevant repetitious cant and rubbish with occasional bleats interspersed in attempts to bring the thread back to its original intent.

God only knows what the General must make of it all.
