Can I just say, and with all due respect and all that, personalise number plates are strictly for wankers.

Methinks you need a bit of support Dave. Well you've got it from me 100%. The super-wankers are those that fiddle with the spacing of the letters and numbers and even introduce spurious screw-heads in a desperate attempt to create something meaningful. Prats.

Some wise people are thinking of a long-term investment. Lke we should be.

I agree.  However, a friend of mine, who at one point in his police career was on the motorways, once said that whilst he was obliged to book people for doing it, in some ways it made the police's job easier:  the public were more inclined to remember the number plates of cars that failed to stop after accidents if they were personalised or doctored to spell names, etc.

My thoughts on personalised plates are summed up by documentary I remember watching years ago.  They featured the bloke with the reg P3NIS.  Needless to say it was affixed to a bright red Bentley.

I have a personalised plate... because I wanted it and the other one I had was boring. It is just my initials and day I was born, not spelling a name or out, but I like it.

Mine's just my initials and P2 in front.

When I bought it, the registration year was P in the old format, but P1 was £1000 - P2 was £250 !!!

Same here. You don't automatically become a wanker just for being a bit individual

I thought all individuals (puberty onwards) were wankers.
