Ya, Im pretty sure Capello is just sticking pins in his list of eligable players and seeing what happens.

Thought Jarvis from Wolves might have got a call as his form has been good lately.

Warnock? He's been poor for a while now.

I thought he played very well Saturday rescued Dunne a couple of times

Numerous times Gabby was playing well last season and didn't get called up, now he plays 1 and a half games and does!

On the strikers point Dave, well Davies is arguably playing better in the last few games than when he actually got called up so by that logic he should be called up.

Bothroyd in but no Jarvis or Downing, I think Capello should be pensioned off now.

Time for el postino pat to pick up his P45.  Look likely to lose to 'crisis France' with this squad.

Hopefully its just one of those "Ryan Giggs friendly international injuries"

I would imagine that pretty much all of these injuries causing players to withdraw are convenience ones, to avoid a pointless friendly

I'm not a big Warnock fan, but i thought Saturday was one of his better games.

As for the England game, what Paulie said. Players are pulling out of their squads for a reason. It's a poinltes game we could all do without.

Warnock's not international standard but he did play well on Saturday.

Gabby giving it a miss can only be a plus for us, considering his lay-off it seemed a bit odd to pick him in the first place.

What exactly does 'international standard' mean? Mustapha Salifou and Stern John are international standard.

Even if you limit the criteria to 'England standard' then the likes of Michael Carrick, Chris Smalling, Frank Fielding, Glen Johnson and Jay Bothroyd are England standard.

I think at his best - like the first part of last season- he's plenty good enough.

Perhaps not to start but certainly as deputy to Cashly Cole.

Problem is we haven't seen that form anywhere near enough this year - Man U apart. We'll see if he can maintain it - I hope it's not just getting himself up for the big games and then phoning it in v Blackburn and the like.
