Everton game at home last season, my mate taps me on the shoulder and with a completely straight face asks 'Why are we singing about getting shipwrecked?'

Brilliant, and ever since no matter the score what awful refereeing decision we've been a victim of we burst into laughter.

I'm sorry, but the referee deserved whatever abuse came his way tonight, he was shocking.

I agree.  Who was the ref tonight?  Jon's gone off with the programme.

Baldy.

Baldy 'Taylor = crap'.  He's been fast tracked through?  I hope he gets fast tracked back down.  He really didn't have much of a clue.

Why are people having a moan at people calling the referee all sorts of abuse? He was terrible tonight and deserved what he got.

He looked completely out of his depth.

I usually think decisions even themselves out over the course of a game and tonight was no different.

He made a bad decision for us, he made one for them. He disallowed a perfectly good goal for us, he pulled them up over a debatable foul throw in midfield. He turned down a stonewall penalty for us, he called them offside. The bad decisions evened themselves out.

Disallowing a perfectly good goal v a debatable foul throw?
A stonewall penalty v an offside decision?

I don't really consider those even scenarios.

The foul throw was a foul throw though, and not the first of the evening either.

I hate it too. It's just really whiney.

It reminds me off that song Wolves sung after the Warnock tackle "If that was us, you'd send him off". Oh just shut up!

I want a bad ref to know it is HIM directly that is shit - not that we moan about refs week in week out - which is what this song says.

The disallowed goal is one of those that looks like climbing over someone when in fact the forward has just got a run on the defender. It was a good goal that an experienced referee would probably have given.

On other subjects from last night, Fabreags was luck to stay on for the lunge on the Wolves player and I thought Essien's jump into the tackle was a sending off.

As for Joey Barton - when will the FA throw the book at him? That punch on Pederson was sly and sinister.
