I agree he has done little since, but he has been injured and in and out of the side.  The facts show that when he had a prolonged run in a settled position in the side we played well and had one of our most succesful run of results in the last few years.  I do think there is a plyer in there somewhere.
That said, I thought he would have grasped the chance over the last couple of weeks, particularly in the Burnley game, and it is disappointing that he hasn't - but if he has been carrying an injury, that might be a mitigating factor?

I do think there is a player in there somewhere, but he always stays very very central and there's no real aspect to his game, he isn't superb at attacking or defending, or dictating play etc.

Of course there's a player in there somewhere but he left him in Reading.

How did he get injured? His wallet fell on his foot or something?

I will remember him for that goal at Everton.

Nothing else springs to mind other than mediocrity personified ( at best).

He played his part that season. Never looked the Barry replacement he was billed as, but he had a pretty decent year.

Performances home and away to Arsenal and away at West Ham stand out in my mind.

He played well in the 3-1 at Liverpool.  The goals against Everton and Wigan.  Ballboy to Milner.  Hitting the post from a saved penalty.  Just missing loads of chances.

Its just never quite happened for him and just don't think he's got what it takes to be a player in a top 6 team.  I've never faulted him for effort, he just lacks the required quality.

How come a lot of our players are getting injured under the new regime? This fitness bollocks clearly isn't working.
