With the ground flooding seven or eight times this past winter I would be very surprised if you played at New Road before July, the target of the end of May is looking optimistic at best. It was flooded recently and I’m not sure when the spring high tide is, but if this wet weather continues then in all likelihood the ground will flood again.

A move away from New Road is inevitable which would be a great loss to cricket.

I would agree, May feels v optimistic having seen the pics last week of the latest flood.

It can’t do anything for the quality of pitches for rest of the summer that the ground staff have barely been able to touch it since about October.

Also agree it’ll be a loss if New Road goes but bigger picture the whole club could go if this continues every summer

It's been rain affected, but I have quite enjoyed the start to the County Championship.  I like that it has been in a consistent slot of Friday - Monday and that has made it a lot easier to follow. 

If only that consistency could continue throughout the season instead of it descending into the disjointed mess it becomes when the white ball stuff starts.

Bears to get a first class women's team from 2025.

Good start with the bat again for the Bears.  Add Sam Hain in at 4 and that top order looks solid.  Hassan Ali will add to the bowling attack as well.
