A bus ride from my house, Nice. Unfortunately I'm at a bloody first birthday party!

Looking forward to tomorrow. Is it worthwhile venturing into Putney for pre match drinks, or even along the river opposite the ground?

As the last couple of times we've been there we've found the 2 pubs right by the tube station to be rammed by midday. Therefore we've gone accross the bridge but always ended up in the first pub you come to, which is just an Aussie Bar like the one on Broad St!

So was wondering if it's worth going on further into Putney?
Yes go south of the river and then left at the church. There's a decent boozer called the boathouse. Its a Youngs pub so pretty good ale.
Or go second right south of the bridge onto Lacy road and on the right you have the Coat and Badge (sit outside if the weather is nice) and a little further on the left the Jolly Gardeners.

We're driving down tomorrow, does anybody know of a place to get parked remotely near the ground?

Made a suggestion on your post in the Tickets and Travel forum.

Apart from London beer/food prices this is without doubt the best away-

Eight Bells at Putney Tube is normally rammed by 10.40am with the
obligatory head tennis outside by midday, using the police horses as goals
(yes definately one to avoid if you want a relaxing time with mates) -

As previously posted decent bars the other side of the river ............

Great day out, we were there in 05 when we missed 2 penalties and could have won 5-0, in the end Lee Clark equalised in the 90th minute, fantastic atmosphere all round so let's hope we get a good result and the fonz bangs a couple in!

Yeah, lovely pub that ....................................... to be avoided at all costs.  I could be closed as didn't some of our not so nice supporters cause trouble in/outside there last year?

A slight cloud on the horizon this year is that there is a fair chance of having to share the pubs with the Twickers egg-chasers. Particularly Putney after the game.
