How To Get Picked For The Team
« on: November 04, 2010, 09:03:47 AM »
Do you remember how at school you used to stand with the rest of the class at the side of the pitch, hand in the air, going "Please Sir! Me Sir! Me Sir!"? It's like that at ManCity, except that you do it by speaking to the press. For example, James Milner:

"We have got 100 per cent faith in the manager. You look at his record, he's a top manager and we're very fortunate to have him. We're all pulling in the right direction."

That should do it.

I can't blame Milner for coming out with something like that. All of the Citeh fans and players must know that supporters of every other team in the country want to see them crash and burn and it wouldn't help if he came out and said anything which could be construed as criticism of the manger. MON didn't allow it, Houllier wouldn't allow it and Mancini wouldn't allow it.

What amuses me more about that quote is that they seem to be having a competition to see how many football cliches they can get into one quote.

£28m is a ridiculous fee to justify though so I cannot see how he can be considered a success.

As we know he is great, but a lot of his best work is through sheer determination/energy rather than eye-catching dribbles or even his passing.
