The Positioning of the "Share" Icons
« on: October 30, 2010, 10:24:26 AM »
Would it be a big job to move the five icons, Share, Facebook, MySpace, etc to the right hand side of the page? My mouse pointer spends a lot of the time hovering in that area and whenever one of them happens to come into focus a window opens. It is probably trivial, but it's also irritating and I can't imagine that many people make use of the links anyway.

Thirded. I hate social networking anyway. 198 Facebook friends and I've blocked most of them because all I get is Farmville/ Cafe World etc updates, or links to Youtube videos, or utter stupidity as status updates. Usually spelled incorrectly, and with shocking misuse of punctuation.

And don't get me started on Twitter.

You can do it yourself. Just create a user-defined stylesheet ( see here and add the following lines of code to your CSS file

Code: [Select]
/* Put Social Networking buttons over to the right */

.addthis_toolbox {

float:right;

}

/* OR hide Social Networking buttons */

.addthis_toolbox {

display:none;

}

Hey Presto!

...now, have you any ideas on how to do the same for the Google Chrome browser which I use on my Netbook?

I don't see those buttons at all, because I have to use a proxy to access this site. So it is probably due to Java Script or some other scripting being disabled.

With this is mind, try this:
Disable Java Script in Crome

Of course, you may lose some stuff which you find useful at the same time. I have to use bb code when posting replies, for example. Maybe separate shortcuts to Chrome?

Maybe Martin could float the buttons off to the right. That would save all the messing with different browsers. ;-)
