Working on my usual rule that no prediction of mine ever comes true, I forecast A Bloes win 2-1

The Downing Heskey show to continue.  2 nil.  Both of them look on it, calm, collected, brilliant.

Nil nil. They will leave Villa Park as if they have just won the league and we will all moan about how poor we have become.

Think this game will be won/lost in the midfield.
Would Ireland and Reo work well in the middle or likely to be over run?

Desperately short of midfield options and if ever sidwell or Ireland need to perform it's now- both were awful last night and blues will be up for it- we cannot afford to carry passengers on Sunday.

Very tough game and I think 1-0 will be a great result- we are struggling for goals and ravaged by injury- will be a very tight scrappy game but we can sneak it.

Tough one to call, not looking forward to this at all. Having said that i think a 3-0 win is on the cards and all 3 from the mighty Heskey!!!

That's what I'm wondering. Over on the Villa-Burnley post match thread I've posted about pairing Ireland and NRC together from here on in, or at least until Petrov and Delph are fit or we strengthen in January.

But that said, given Albrighton's suspension for this game, it changes our options slightly and may be worth going with Ireland, NRC and Sidwell; I agree, I think midfield will be crucial. Blues are pretty strong in that area. Sidwell lacks finesse but he'll certainly be competitive.

We're a bit short with injuries and suspensions now biting but I'd go with this:

                           Friedel

Beye         Cuellar         Collins       Warnock

                NRC            Sidwell

         Young       Ireland      Downing

                         Heskey

Subs: Guzan, Dunne, Clark, Lichaj, Bannan, Carew, Delfouneso

Thats the team I'd like to see.  I also think it WILL be the side, with the only real question being Cuellar or Dunne.

I'm nervous about this as always.  Law of averages would say that they're due a result after 6 beatings on the trot.  I've predicted a draw and am going for 1-1.

As I said on the Burnley thread, i'd like us to be brave and go 4-4-2

Friedel

Beye
Collins
Cuellar
Warnock

Young
Ireland/Sidwell
Reo Coker
Downing

Heskey
Carew

Assuming Carew is fit.

This one is going to be very close.  The most hungry and physical team will win.

I'd go with that. Although, Sidwell really doesn't deserve a place in the team.
Injuries have obviously hit us hard and the suspension of Albrighton is gutting. I fear that Gardner, Bowyer and Barry Ferguson will be too tough for us in midfield and Reo-Coker will have a lot of work to do.

Well, the team picks itself given the shortage of players. Any sort of win will be a good win. We may have to settle for a draw as the game will be won and lost in the midfield and I'm not convinced with ours at the moment.
