The direction O'Neill wanted to move in was one towards Keane and McGready for £18m.

So glad he's not at our club anymore, sorry MON lovers.

No need to apologise, Greg. ;¬)

Yeh, those rumours must have been true because it was in the red top papers, like Rooney off to Man City.

Don't recall any quotes from MON about those players..

I'm just going by what a journalist told me who was very close to the situation.
It was no secret that he was an admirer of Keane, McGready and Jenas.

Exactly, no secret if you believe everything hyped up by the press.

Me too.

Keane should have joined when JG was in charge and McGeady if we were in the Championship.

Does anyone know what direction we're going in?

Sideways.

Having the manager walk out 5 days before the start of a season does that to you.  So it's better than it could have been.

Heard houllier on 5 live just saying he hopes to bring in one or two in January but most of his deals will be in the summer- as regards o neill I really think he will pitch up at newcastle very soon indeed, can't see him getting a top 6 job again!

Incidentally  where is our friend gregnash? Not seen him on here since the week o neill walked out!

You think so?  I reckon they'd be daft to get rid of Hughton, who's doing a decent job there.  They need a bit of stability after their managerial merry-go-round of the last five years.

I agree with you about O'Neill not walking into another big job.  The best he can hope for is another big-club-fallen-on-hard-times, putting him in the same position as he was in four years back.

There were strong rumours that if newcastle had lost to Wigan last week , hughton would have been sacked, seems he's very much on borrowed time up there and o neill would be treated as the messiah if he went there.

Still can't see him doing much if he goes there though as he won't have the cash he had here to spend- I really see o neill at newcastle in the next month or so though.

Well the Bar Codes have just won again, so nothing going there for now. I just hope where ever he goes, he takes his ex-Villa Five with him. The thought of Walford anmd Robertson in the Anfield boot room would have poor Shanks spinning in his grave.

My guess is MON will have to drop a division or two. I think he's been found out.

Love him or hate him he gets results.

Last year we were poor against Sland, and won, this year played better and lost.

He will go to Lplop or Noocastle, or a team of that ilk.

No chance. He may get results but can you imagine him and his backroom staff without the millions to spend. Saying that, I really hope he ends up at Newcastle. It's about time they had a new Messiah.
