Clark at LB might work.

It would cause another 'Cuellar at RB' style row on here, though!

Surely we would just play our reserve right back at right back as we did on Saturday.

Beye deserves to play against Sunderland. After that, let's see. He's hardly played any football over the last 12 months so he's hardly going to be 100% but deserves the chance.

Carlos will never let us down if needed but I do have reservations with Lichaj. From what I've seen of him, I just don't see him making it at this level.

if we need a left back we can use one of right back in left back or move Downing to left back I think he can play there. Providing it is not a tough and powerful winger he is facing.

Downing left back? Are you sure? I'd be very worried about him playing there.

Beye could play left back in an emergency but we do need specialist cover in that area , certainly I'm happy to see beye keep the right back role until young is fit.

Cuellar will get his chances at centre half and I'm sure he will play a big part in our season-houllier is very a manager who loves to rotate and keep players fresh- he is assessing what he has here before deciding what he needs to add to his squad.

I think he play there at his former club. Can't be 100% sure though.

Id rather have salifou at right back than Beye.

What did he do against Chelsea that offended you?  Or is it that you form an opinion of a player and don't give them any further chances?

did you think he played well? i didnt.
Yes, look at all the clear chances and shots on target that the best attack in the country managed to come up with.

Beye did fine and will do fine on Saturday as well.

It would rather have Lowry there - Beye proved against Rapid Vienna he is far from comfortable on the left. But Beye is more than adequate cover at right back.

Beye did well against Chelsea so he deserves to play against Sunderland simple as that!

Got to be Habib Beye, with Lichaj on the bench.  Simples.

What a ridiculous comment - I assume it was ironic.

I have to admit that when they announced the team on Saturday I despaired at the announcement of Beye. But I thought he was one of our best players against Chelski so I'm happy to be proved wrong and for him to deputise.
