Time for Habib Beye to take his chance.

GH, please do not play Cuellar at Right Back.

Oh crap.

Beye's done OK, but he's not Luke quality.

If Beye carries on as he did against Chelsea we should be OK.

Can't really see a left wing threat from Burnley, Sunderland and SHA.

I may be alone, but for SHA, I would play Cuellar if LY isn't fit. A bit more strength in the defence in a game which is usually a bit more pysical.

I'm hoping he'll do well and shows the importance of cover in all positions.

Beye is hardly shrinking violet, he's more than capable of handling himself against the scum and give far more attacking wise than CC.

martin was vilified for cc playing right back, but its ok now is it? i am an advocate of horses for courses but we all wanted full backs playing where full backs play, didnt we?

Beye and lichaj are both capable right backs- I see no reason to consider cuellar for the right back position.

What did he do against Chelsea that offended you?  Or is it that you form an opinion of a player and don't give them any further chances?

I'd have no issue with Cuellar, Beye or Lichaj at right-back for those games.

All have done well enough there in the past. Beye would be my preferred option though.

Its not as simple as that in my opinion. I liked how solid the defence looked with Carlos at RB, but of course he doesn't get forward as well as LY. In a game where the full backs are going to come under intense pressure, be it aerial, or on the ground, I think Cuellar is stronger. Its about using the squad to get the best results possible.

Houllier must be doing something right, when the best anyone can do on here is pick a fight over whether Beye should play right back instead of Cuellar.
I'm more concerned as to who will fill the mid field places and whether we have an effective, read, any striker able to score goals.

I would play Cuellar ar right back, but then I would play Cuellar ahead of Dunne or Clark at the moment, Beye doesn't give us much going forward so I'd play the better defender.

Warnock can't be far from a suspension, in an area where we've got no cover.
