I'd rather have Bale than Ashley 'i'll cut inside and fall over' Young.

How shit is Jenas though? No wonder we were linked with him under O'Nearly.

I can see him wearing a pale blue shirt before long.

You really think Jenas will go to the pale blues?

Coventry ?

You mean the misfortune of finishing in the top four and qualifying for the CL? Some misfortune! That's been Villa's stated aim for ages now. I dread to think how our current team would get on playing away to Inter.

I very rarely watch the CL. For no other reason than we're not in it and therefore I have no interest in it. It may as well by the Leyland Daf, the FA Cup from March onwards (if we're lucky), the Europa League from Rapid Vienna onwards, or the Cheam/Worcester Park Trophy Knock-out.

If it isn't us then I'm not bothered.
I watch it. It's been my only source over the last few years to see any decent football.
This week I saw part of the Real Madrid game, part of the Arsenal game but couldn't bring myself to watch Man United. Same goes with Chelsea although I will watch them in the PL. Too boring in Europe. If the Spurs game had been on here I might have watched it but only to see them get stuffed.

I just can't bring myself to want any of the English teams do well. Just how much additional money have Arsenal received for scoring 14 goals in 3 games? It's a simple fact that with the CL, the rich just get richer and realistically, we're never going to be able to compete.

What i can't stand is when the commentators say things like 'Spurs are 3-0 down, i know the millions watching back home won't be enjoying this', when in fact myself and millions of others are sat there pissing ourselves laughing. I want every English team in the Champions League and Europa league to crash and burn and lose every game, the only exception was Fulham because noone hates Fulham, but i still didn't want them to win the whole thing as that would have been a step too far.

Another Spurs thread? Is this an Arsenal board in disguise?

I'm not going to take the piss out of a side that are in a competition that is our long term ambition to be in, and that just lost 4-3 with 10 men in a ground where we've lost 1-0 and 3-0 in our visits.

Just seen the front of The Sun, headline reads Golden Bales...   anyone would think they won..THEY LOST

Look back to the Great European Nights we still talk about. Barcelona I, Juventus, Inter I.

Athletico is another one often mentioned, well the second half.

Bizarrely, thinking about it as i'm typing, Anderlecht 1st leg is rarely mentioned.

Spurscelona ??....try living here in Cambridge where their silly delusional minds have them on a par with the great Real Madrid/Ajax/Liverpool/Forest/Villa/Bayern/Barcelona/Man Yoo etc legendary teams of the past,

so fuck em, I take great pleasure in seeing them lose.

In the group phase of the CL, halfway through and second in their group.

I wish we had some of that misfortune.
